Englewood … one of Florida’s best kept secrets! Nestled on Florida’s beautiful Gulf Coast, and located on State Road 776, you’ll discover it offers a relaxed pace of life that is rare in today’s hectic world. The “Old Town” section of Englewood, west of Indiana (776) on Dearborn, is richly endowed with local fare and craft. More people are choosing to make Englewood their permanent year round home, and statistics show a rapid increase in population. Home sales have been brisk, setting records. There are numerous home builders in our area, developing single family, multi-family, condos and commercial lots. We hope you’ll find our area as ‘perfect’ as we do!

White pristine beaches cover more than 27 miles of Englewood’s shoreline, right on the Gulf of Mexico! Many people say our sunsets are some of the most spectacular in the world as the brilliant sun fades into the horizon of peaceful Gulf waters. Our southern location provides a warm, sub-tropical climate. Bright, sunny days are the norm with gentle easterly prevailing winds. Average monthly high temperatures are between 71-90 degrees and lows average 51-73 degrees.

Some folks prefer the protected waters of Lemon Bay and Charlotte Harbor, others delighting in the still waters of the Intra Coastal Waterway. Dolphin frolic near boaters as they scurry to their destination or just anchor up to do some fishing. World famous photographers visit each year to document our rare and exotic wild life. Visitors have the option to spend time on a guided fishing boat, go kayaking, speed away on a jet ski, or rent a boat to explore for a day. Our unspoiled estuaries and their inhabitants deserve exploring and will excite all the senses.

Englewood serves as an ideal base for Florida’s other tourist attractions. It is a short trip to Orlando to experience Disney; professional football and hockey in Tampa; soccer, and, if you are a patron of the Arts, and local theater, numerous Art shows throughout the year.

Famous for sport fishing, May - July thousands of visitors try their luck at Tarpon fishing at Boca Grande pass. If you are a golfer, there are 62 golf courses in Sarasota and Charlotte counties alone. Our tropical climate allows visitors and residents year round access to golf, boating, fishing, tennis or any number of outdoor sports.

Six beaches speckle our coastline; Manasota Beach at the north end of the ‘key’; Blind Pass (locally known as Middle Beach), in the middle of the ‘key’; Englewood Beach; Stump Pass Beach; Don Pedro State Park, accessible by boaters (their favorite); and Gasparilla State Recreation Area, (by Boca Grande).

Indian Mound State Park on Lemon Bay, is a ‘favorite’ spot for many, you can picnic, launch your boat, or just meet friends to watch the Dolphins feed and play in the shallows. This isn’t a water-world-like show, but wildlife in their own habitat. Egret, pelicans and dolphin make this picnic area a “favorite lunch spot” for many.

Travel a few minutes south on Indiana; ... go right on Beach Rd, ...over the Draw Bridge, and you’ll find yourself at one of the nicest sandy beaches on Florida’s West Coast. Englewood Beach has become quite the “hot-spot”, as many have discovered its placid, resort-like setting. A great place to “hang” for some sun, swimming, picnic, and later, dinner across the street. Go a mile or so further south on Beach Rd, and you’ll discover Stump Pass Beach/State Park, a ‘not-as-well-known’ beach with comparable qualities.
